Here is another Recent Updates post to highlight additions you may have missed.

I’ve added an About Me page.

Added a few new Fly Patterns:

Updated the Resources tab with the following items:

  • Added 2 more books to the Favorite Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Books section.
    • Barr Flies by John Barr
    • Steelhead Flies by John Shewey
  • Because of a comment from Bob in my Fly Fishing Knots blog post, I decided to try the Davy knot. It’s a simple knot to tie once you get the hang of it…like anything. Seems to hold tight when fighting fish. I’ve added to my Fishing Knots section.

If you are on Facebook, check out and LIKE my RiverKeeper Flies page. I’ve continued my â€śThrow Back Thursday” weekly post of older flies that were popular years ago and sometimes, but not always forgotten. The Skunk and Elk Hair Caddis were the last two flies posted.

Don’t miss a post by using the SUBSCRIBE button on the top right of this page. You’ll receive an automated email when a new blog is posted.

Thanks for following RiverKeeper Flies!

I remember several years ago stating “if I need any flies size 20 or smaller, I’ll buy them!” Well, I’m having to eat those words right…

  • Fishing Ă‘ireco Creek and Rio Buraleo with SET Fly Fishing in Argentina

This week, I share more of our adventure fishing Ă‘ireco Creek and Rio Buraleo with SET Fly Fishing in Argentina. This day, we fished the Ă‘ireco, a 21 mile small creek which flows through the Estancia, eventually flowing into the Rio Reñileuvu. We didn’t have the opportunity to fish here last year because there wasn’t…

  • Tying Flies and Filling Orders

I’m back to tying flies and filling orders. Why? The weather changed. Remember last week’s Fall Fly Fishing on the Metolius post where I mentioned someone throwing a switch on November 1? Well, they finally did, although a few days later. What a difference a week makes. A week ago our high temperature was 67…yesterday…

  • The River Wins

Fishing has changed the last few weeks and I’ve come to the conclusion the river wins! July and August are tough months to fish some rivers. Hatches change. I’m spoiled. I enjoy dry fly fishing.

  • Images from the Road

Here is this week’s images from the road. A few more pics from our recent fall fly fishing road trip. The image above is an Owyhee Rainbow Trout. A Brownie eager to take a dry fly on the Owyhee River. A Mahogany mayfly. A bison in Yellowstone National Park. The same bison with a tourist…
