Fall is definitely in the air and the river is showing it’s colors the last few weeks. And fall colors are always spectacular.
Whether it’s fishing for steelhead…
…or along my home river.
It’s a great time of year to stop and appreciate the view as you’re waiting for a hatch to begin and fish rise.
And the fall colors aren’t only along the river…check out the fish.
In my experience, fall provides a few days when you’ll see fish eating everything in sight to put on winter fat. The fish know winter isn’t far away.
If you are lucky enough to be fishing on one of those days, it can be magical!
What flies work?
Check out a couple of posts about the flies I use this time of year – Fall Fishing, October Fly Box and A Fall Fly Box
It’s the time of year when the bigger fish match the foliage.
Be sure to take some time and celebrate the season before all the leaves are gone.
Absolutely spectacular! ? We are so lucky to fish these waters. And with your willingness to share your knowledge, I catch one of these beauties now and then. ? Speaking of sharing, the copper cup looks refreshing.
Thanks for your gracious comments.
Wish I was along the river……Love those fall colors and magnificent fish!
Thanks for the comment. Keep looking at the pictures, close your eyes and your mind will take you there!
