Here is my recommendation for a box of Basic Nymph Flies I picked for someone new to fly fishing. Walking into a fly shop for the first time can be intimidating because you don’t know the questions to ask. Check out my post – What Nymphs Should I Use? for a little more help.

Click on the picture or fly name for a link to a fly pattern sheet with pictures and tying directions. Some fly pattern sheets have pictures of real bugs to help “match the hatch”.

I’ve substituted the RiverKeeper Stonefly Nymph for the Kaufmanns Stonefly Nymph because it’s very similar and easier to tie for me. Either one will work.
