Sight Fishing to Rising Fish on the Madison River

In this week’s post, I’m sharing a fishing experience from this summer’s fly fishing road trip. I just finished editing the latest video on my RiverKeeper Flies YouTube channel called Sight Fishing to Rising Fish on the Madison River.

If you are a regular here at RiverKeeper Flies, you know how much we enjoy fishing dry flies. Finding rising fish gets us excited, but can be a challenge determining what insects the fish are eating. At times, they rise quickly to a well-presented dry fly. Other times, we change fly after fly to coax them and still they won’t rise.

The fish in this video was very selective. For some reason, tying on a small #18 IOBO Humpy got him to rise.

Spoiler alert…she did land the fish!
