RiverKeeper Flies YouTube Channel

Fishing has slowed down for me so I’ve returned to the vise, filling orders and the provider box. In addition, I recently taught a Zoom fly tying class for Gretchen and Al Beatty’s BT’s Fly Tying Friday where I demonstrated my RiverKeeper Soft Hackle Cripple, one of my favorite flies to trick selective trout. This week, I thought I’d highlight my RiverKeeper Flies YouTube channel where you’ll find some new content.

My RiverKeeper Flies YouTube channel includes more than fly tying videos.

Here is one about our Brown Drake experience on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River I created back in August.

My newest video is demonstrating the RiverKeeper Soft Hackle Cripple. It’s my second favorite dry fly to imitate mayflies.

Here is a link to the fly I tie on my line most of the time to imitate BWOs, PMD, and Green Drakes. I’m sure you’ve seen the Sparkle Dun many times on my website.

I hope you find value in my fly tying videos. You’ll be seeing more in the near future, so be sure to subscribe to my channel.

For you fly tyers out there, this is the time of year where lots of opportunities exist to learn from talented fly tyers using Zoom. I’ve listed two below:

  • BT’s Fly Tying Friday (6PM Mountain time) – These classes are hosted by Gretchen and Al every Friday night. On 11/26, Al will tie a few Humpies, a fly he ties when he wants to have “fun” at the vise. How many of you still have problems with proper proportions on the flies? If you’re like me, you might want to attend. They teach some of the classes and have enlisted other talented tyers as well. Here is the link to Al’s YouTube channel where you can view past presentations. And the Zoom link for their Friday night meetings.

  • Central Oregon Fly Tyer’s Guild (5 – 7 pm Pacific time) – Classes begin 12/2. Let me know if you are interested and I’ll forward your name to get you on the list.

Enjoy…go fish, stay safe!
