Here is the fly pattern sheet for a Purple Haze.

Materials

Hook:

Daiichi 1180, #12 – 20

Thread:

Gray

Post:

Poly

Tail:

Moose body hair

Body:

Purple dubbing

Hackle:

Brown and grizzly

Directions

  1. Attach thread behind eye and wind halfway down hook. Wind thread halfway back towards eye. You’re now at the ¼ point.
  2. Post poly.
  3. Tie in both hackles around hook and up post.
  4. Tie in moose body hair.
  5. Dub tapered body to hook eye.
  6. Wind hackle down post and tie off.
  7. Whip finish.
