After spending a week at Casa de Campo, our next stop was fly fishing at Trocoman house with SET Fly Fishing. It wasn’t the original plan…we were scheduled to stay at Rakin Lodge (although we know it as Codihue), a new SET lodge approximately two hours away by car. We were looking forward to fly…

Our last two days at Casa de Campo found us fly fishing the Rio Alumine with SET Fly Fishing. This is a float section where SET provides a wonderful camping experience for their guests. But first, I wanted to share links to the last couple of posts for my subscribers. It turns out my Mailchimp…

A couple of weeks ago was a milestone for me. Know why? RiverKeeper Flies turned 11 years old on March 5! That’s right, I’ve been at the keyboard writing these posts for 11 years. It’s hard for me to believe where my journey has taken me. It may be difficult to see, but this is an image…

We spent our next 2 days in Argentina fly fishing the Rio Malalco with SET Fly Fishing, another river in Lanin National Park. This was a very different river than the previous two, as we continued our fish hunting experience. The river flowed through a narrow and steep canyon and walking the trail was more…

We have been back from our Patagonia fly fishing trip for a week and a half and thought I’d share a few odds and ends as I’m slowly getting back into a normal routine. We returned home to a snowy driveway and temperatures in the 30’s, a vast departure from summer weather in Argentina. I…

Our last day of fishing Patagonia in Chile found us fly fishing the Upper Rio Simpson with Coyhaique River Lodge. We weren’t sure what the upper river might have in store for us, because we enjoy the walk/wade experience. Our only other time fly fishing the Rio Simpson was 18 years ago when we waded…

We had a wonderful time fly fishing at Lago Pascua with Coyhaique River Lodge. This is the one and only day we fished a lake in Chile and the fishing gods smiled down upon us. A we crested the hill, a beautiful, picturesque lake came into view. Our drive continued to the far side of…
