Here is the fly pattern sheet for Kelly Galloup’s Ant Acid.

Materials

 

Hook:

Daiichi 1190, TMC 100 or 101 #12 – 16

Thread:

6/0 Danville or 8/0 Uni thread, color to match body

Body:

3 distinct segments – cinnamon, brown, cinnamon

Underwing:

Holographic flat mylar

Wing:

Deer hair

Legs:

Black/white Turantu-Leggs, small or medium or Centipede Legs, White – Small

Directions:

  1. Start thread on hook and apply dubbing to back 1/3 of hook, creating a large ball.
  2. Tie on underwing.
  3. Dub slim middle section.
  4. Select clump of deer hair, clean and stack.
  5. Dub front section.
  6. Add a set of legs on each side.
  7. Whip finish and trim thread.

Other color combinations – black/red/black, black/purple/black, and brown/tan/brown
