Hook:

Daiichi 1130, Dai Riki, 125 or TMC 2488 #20

Thread:

8/0 Uni, olive dun

Trailing shuck:

Mayfly brown Zelon

Body:

Working thread

Thorax:

Peacock

Hackle:

Grizzly

Materials

Tan Zelon

Working thread

Thorax:

Superfine dubbing, tan

Hackle:

White, light dun, or light grizzly

Directions:

  1. Begin thread on hook and attach tail material. Continue winding thread around bend of hook.
  2. Wind thread forward with touching turns just past hook point.
  3. Attach a couple pieces of peacock and wrap thorax with 2 – 3 turns. Tie off and trim.
  4. Select hackle one size smaller than hook size, tie in and complete 2 – 3 wraps. Tie off and trim.
  5. Whip finish to complete fly.
