Materials

Hook:

Standard #16 nymph hook

Bead:

Gold 2.3 mm

Thread:

Fluorescent orange size 8/0 Ultra

Tail:

Glo-Brite floss #5 (fluorescent orange)

Rib:

Sulky metallic silver thread (from JoAnn’s Fabric Store)

Body/Thorax:

Peacock black Ice dub

Collar:

Fluorescent orange 8/0 Ultra thread

Directions

  1. Debarb hook and slide bead on hook.
  2. Attach thread and position at barb.
  3. Take a 3″ piece of Glo-Brite floss and double over twice to create 4 equal lengths.
  4. Tie in floss “bunch” to create tail. Trim equal with hook bend – must be short.
  5. Attach rib material.
  6. Dub slender body.
  7. Bring rib material forward with 4 turns and tie off.
  8. Use working thread to create hot-spot. Whip finish and trim.
