This fly pattern was taught by Jeff Perin of The Fly Fisher’s Place in Sisters, OR at the Central Oregon Flyfishers Winter Fly Tying Class. This is one of several fly patterns Jeff highlighted in his blog about Euro Nymphing.
Here is a link to my RiverKeeper Flies YouTube channel, demonstrating the fly.
Personal tying notes:
- Hook comparisons – Kona BC1 and Daiichi 1130 are fine wire hooks and won’t hold a 3.3 mm bead, the bead slips over the eye.
- MFC 7190 is barbless, Daiichi 1120 is offset with barb.
- Currently using Solarez Bone Dry for body and Gulff Black Magic for wing pad.
