I’ve been making progress in the last week, working on filling my Patagonia fly box. I thought you might enjoy a few images of the flies.

The image above shows our “hers and his” fly boxes…one for Dancingtrout and one for me. They are filled with Fat Albert flies in brown/tan and black, sizes 8 and 10.

There are still a few holes to fill and I’ll continue to work on them in the coming weeks.

I just finished tying parachute flies…Parachute Adams (#12 & 14) and Purple Haze (#14), a dozen of each.

I chose to use Cree hackle for the Parachute Adams and a grizzly/brown mix for Purple Haze.

Cree hackle is touted as a 1-feather solution to achieve a color mixture. I used a Hebert/Miner saddle hackle from Whiting Farms.

But honestly, the grizzly/brown combo looks just fine.

The list below shows a Purple Para Wulff. I did a search for the fly and found it uses a split Wulff style wing. I can’t imagine why a fish would choose a split wing vs single like any normal parachute wing…so I just tied my usual Purple Haze. I did add a rib of mylar tinsel to add a little flash. I doubt the fish will care.

I’ve completed the BOLD flies listed below. I think I have Chubby Chernobyl’s and Elk Hair Caddis (#14) already tied in the provider box. I pulled out materials to tie some Elk Hair Caddis and will move to the Parachute Madam X and the Cicada.
